Subject: New Orleans Fest on Martha's Vineyard

Vineyard Gumbo, starting on July 18th, 2006, a week long festival of
New Orleans music, food, and culture on Martha's Vineyard will celebrate the unique
and wonderful spirit of New Orleans, while raising needed financial support and
awareness of the ongoing struggles faced by the entire city as they work to rebuild
their homes and communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Dear Friends:

Three months ago, my brother Jon and I thought it would be fun to get a band up
from New Orleans for a benefit concert on Martha's Vineyard this summer. The week
long festival now has 15 events at 12 different Island venues over 5 days! We are
bringing up the Treme Brass Band, piano master Henry Butler, and Galactic.
Notable chefs, including New Orleans Soul Food Queen Leah Chase, Frank
Brigsten, and others will also be on hand for cooking demonstrations and special
dinners. Nick Spitzer of NPR's American Routes Radio is flying up to be Master of
Ceremonies.

Please check out
vineyardgumbo.com for complete schedule and ticket information.

I hope you can all make it! There will be some amazing events. If you can't attend,
please consider making a cash donation. All donations are fully tax deductible.
